Your Solar Energy Business: Where are you heading?
Well, we’ve reached the end of your series of Ecopreneur network marketing training articles. Congratulations! You made it through reading all of my articles and hopefully learned a great deal about network marketing. This is also the start of your last day to be honest with yourself and where you want your solar business to head.
I have a few questions for you at this point…
* Did you reach your goals for the past 35 - 70 days?
* Have you referred your first 3 customers to the REnU Solar Solution?
* Have you added new Ecopreneurs to your team?
* How many emails have you sent?
* How many prospecting calls have you made?
* How many brochures or REnU flyers have you handed out?
* How many contacts or conversations have you had each day?
* Have you gone through all the training material that has been provided?
* Are you downloading and using the EcoCrew resources?
* Do you know your business back office tools inside and out?
* Can you process a new REnU reservation &/or a new Ecopreneur registration?
Okay, those questions should get you started and really thinking about where you stand. We strongly encourage you to – every 30 days – stop and evaluate your solar energy business. This is your time to analyze your strengths and be honest about your weaknesses. Where are you falling down on building your business? What areas do you need to get better in? What can you do to ensure you accomplish your goals in the next 30 days? How will you personally move the needle and make a difference in our efforts to lower our carbon emissions?
Once you have taken an honest look, now is the time to set your next 30 day goals. Do this on a monthly basis. We’ve talked about the importance of goals already. They will remain critically important as long as you are building your business.
* What do you want to accomplish this month?
* How many people are you going to contact each day/week?
* How many emails are you going to send?
* How many phone calls are you going to make?
* How many brochures or flyers are you going to hand out?
* How many new Ecopreneurs are going to be added to your team?
* What are you going to do to make yourself better this month?
* Are you going to keep your feet moving and build your business?
* Do you have the business tracking tools in place?
Keep your business building simple. You have all the systems in place. If you have any questions or need help getting yourself all set up, I’m here to help. Just reach out and connect with me. I would appreciate the opportunity to get to know you better. All you have to do is do it. Be consistently consistent. Be internally motivated. You decided to join the solution because you felt, in your gut, this was right. Now go out and make a difference.
I’m a big fan of working my way backward when I set a goal. The best way to explain this to you is to use an example. Let’s say your business goal is to have 15 REnU referrals and 5 Ecopreneurs you have personally sponsored. Our first question is when you intend to have. It’s not enough to say you want 15 and 5. Give it a date. Be specific.
Maybe your answer is 3 months. Okay…You’ll need to get 5 new customers and an average 2 new Ecopreneurs per month. That’s your first “Working Backward Goal”.
What are you going to do to achieve this goal? Each person’s answer will be different but let’s say your plan is to hand out 50 flyers a week, send 50 emails, and advertise online in at least 5 places. What do you have to do on a daily basis to make that happen? Set out a plan. Make a short list of activities that is easy for you to follow. Create a tracking sheet to help motivate and document the activities and results that you’ve achieved.
This is what “Working a Goal Backward” is all about. Take an overall goal and break it down into daily or even hourly activity. That way you don’t get to Saturday and say, “Oh my, I have to give out 50 flyers today and have 10 conversations with strangers!” Of course you’re not going to realistically do that so you throw up your hands, decide you’ve failed and give up. Or just say, “Well, I’ll do it next week…” and then repeat the same pattern, frustrated because you’re not experiencing the same success as other Ecopreneurs.
Work your goals backward and then commit to your DAILY activities to make your dreams a reality. I believe you can do it! Many others already have. Personally, I’m committed to my goals by creating these messages and sending them out to you. I’m working backward from my goals of being the best sponsor I can be. I’m working backward from my goal of creating a self-duplicating, self-replicating team driven by each other to succeed.
Right now you are in one of 3 places:
1. You didn’t reach your goals for your first 30 days. Frustrated.
2. You reached your goals but you wished you had done more. Empowered.
3. Your business is really taking off and there is no looking back. Pumped-Up.
Today is a brand new day. What you have done before really doesn’t matter now. You can decide today to reach your goals for the NEXT 30 days, raise yourself one step higher on the ladder, or decide to push yourself yet further out of your comfort zone into your new reality. You can decide now to build the momentum you wished you already had going...or ever increase it.
Why walk when you can jog. Why jog when you can run. Why run when you can sprint towards what you can almost taste now, a better future for you, those you love, and the environment. You can continue the momentum you’ve built the last month and keep things rolling! This decision is yours. The actions and the results you achieve are totally up to you!
While this is the end of my Ecopreneur letters, I encourage you to go over them again and again. I’m here to help you any way I can. Perhaps, you are already placed and working within a growing team. Great!
My or the goal of your upline sponsor is to support you in your quest to become financially independent and to really make a difference. Here’s to spreading the word and making your solar vision and your dreams a reality.
