Your Solar Energy Team: Duplication is Key to Citizenre
Your Solar business is more about leadership than it is about anything else. You are in this
business to learn about and promote the REnU Solar Solution to American homeowners. That just about sums it
up. Then you are to train new Ecopreneurs to do the same. Without training, many of the new Ecopreneurs on
your team will be left stranded, without any direction, and unsure of just how to get their solar energy
business started.
The key to success with your business is to have the Ecopreneurs on your team mimic your results. Hopefully,
you have taken action and are producing the results needed to get you to the point of mentoring new
Ecopreneurs as they join. If not, the training resources offered here are my attempts at duplicating my
process. I hope it helps you in one way or another somehow along the way.
The solar energy business is all about showing others what you are doing so they can do the same. It is about
leading by example. It is about leveraging the power of the TEAM instead of the INDIVIDUAL.
It is called DUPLICABILITY.
Ultimately, you are attempting to duplicate yourself. This involves more than just transmitting information
about how to reserve a homeowner’s REnU or process a new Ecopreneur registration. Duplicability is the
ability to take what you are doing and duplicate that same success in others. It also requires transferring
your own can-do, learn-what-I-need-to-do, success-over-failure attitude that drives you.
Where many Ecopreneurs have challenges:
1. They do not have systems in place to train new people.
2. They fail to communicate their systems properly.
3. They are not available to help mentor when teammates need help.
You should NOT do the work for your new Ecopreneurs. This doesn’t create a powerful & duplicating team. It
still takes commitment from everyone on your team to make it work. What I am saying…Strive to understand
what works and have systems in place to communicate that knowledge to new Ecopreneurs.
It’s about having a systematic process that new Ecopreneurs can follow; a step-by-step guide, a toolbox of
resources, and a list of instructions for getting their solar energy business going.
Here is my attempt at DUPLICABILITY.
What follows are the steps & related explanation of MY PERSONAL JOURNEY with Citizenre. You may or may not
decide to implement or leverage the resources that I’m providing to you here. That is up to you and is
directly related to how YOU want to grow YOUR business. I do hope you will take a closer look and
incorporate these resources into your own business, if they make sense for you to do so.
I’m looking for the leaders within our Eco Crew (i.e. Team) to step up so that we, as a group, can leverage
our combined strengths to begin working with others. I have too many Ecopreneurs on the team to be able to
personally work with each of you day-by-day. Email is my primary tool at the moment but I want to start
setting up some regular conference calls so that we can all get to know each other. I’m seeking the leaders
who will help our organization grow to new levels.
We’re at over a few hundred Ecopreneurs now -- and growing. Where will we be tomorrow? I know we will be too big for any single person to
possibly manage. We will need a core group of 10 - 25 leaders, directly in our team as it grows, then in your team as it grows.
Some of you may have joined this business without having a clue as to what to do next. Without a plan, without
your goals defined, or systems in place, new Ecopreneurs will likely get confused, angry, disappointed,
lose all interest and throw up their hands in disgust and claim, “What a bunch junk. This process doesn’t
work! No one wants to hear about the REnU Solution.” This whole process is sort of like putting together a
new BBQ; as long as you have the instructions, all of the parts, decent customer service & support, and a
desire to cook a steak…just about anyone can do it, right?
Well, not necessarily. I do understand that we are all approaching our solar energy businesses differently.
What’s provided here will hopefully get you started. You can take this information and use it as you
please. Start off by downloading my “New Ecopreneur Toolkit” here for a BIG list of Internet resources that will be discussed throughout the rest of this message.
******************************************************************* Step 1 – Joining the Ecopreneur Team & Getting Qualified
You’ve completed the following to get yourself qualified to promote the REnU Solar Solution. Please
download the New Ecopreneur Cover Letter (from Rob Styler) and the New Ecopreneur Getting Started Guide for
the “How Tos & ABCs” of this required & important qualification step. Use these documents with your Team.
By now, you have finished the following:
a. Registered as an Ecopreneur
b. Read Knowledge Base & Studied the New Ecopreneur Training
c. Studied the Getting Started Guide
d. Passed the New Ecopreneur Qualification Test
e. Got Your corporate Websites “Activated”
The basics here are just the starting point. These steps get you to the point where you can begin to
actively market the REnU Solar Solution & to build your own Ecopreneur Team. Step 1 – check!
Step 2 – Register Your Own Domains Names
It is a good idea to register your own, personal domain names to help promote the opportunities.
You may register a name that is more focused on the REnU Solar Solution (solar customer) and another on the
new Ecopreneur (business opportunity). You can then “forward” your personal domain name (i.e. Website
address) over to the corporate Websites provided to you. This gives a more professional appearance when
your prospects look you up on the Internet. Check out what I’m doing with my personal domain name (reThinkingSolar.com).
Step 3 – Create a Recognizable Email Address
Once you’ve registered for your own domain name, you may want to consider creating and using a memorable or
easily recognizable email address. The key idea here; you want prospects to easily remember not only your
name (i.e. Daniel Stouffer) but also your Website address (i.e. Solargies.com). By having an email address
such like mine (Daniel.Stouffer@Solargies.com) I’m able to accomplish a couple of objectives at the same
time.
Never fear! There are email services available that can integrate multiple email accounts so that ALL of
your email is delivered to one place. I personally use www.Gmail.com because it allows me to include an
unlimited number of email accounts. I currently have my solar business & personal email all arriving in
the same place. I think Yahoo and others have similar features. It makes business & personal email
management a little easier.
Step 4 – Seek Out Specialized Network Marketing Mentoring
I will not cover this is too much detail. I have much more information already included on my Website @
www.Solargies.com/services.htm. Personally, I knew right away that I required some special training and
mentoring specifically related to network marketing. I needed to better understand what to do, when to do,
and how to do it. I need to know how to get the “systems” in place that I’m passing along to you. Many of
the training & tools you are experiencing are the results of my early training. My first 3 months with
Citizenre consisted of many, many late nights working with my mentor on the East coast. It has made a big
difference in my personal development.
Step 5 – Communicating Who You Are on Your Blog or Website
I believe Citizenre does a pretty good job related to communicating the REnU Solar Solution and the related
Ecopreneur business opportunity. There are a couple of reasons why you should consider giving your solar
energy business “a personality & face”.
First, you are really limited in the tactics you may use related to Internet marketing such as
pay-per-click (PPC) or search engine optimization (SEO) with your corporate Websites. You are not allowed
to work with these Web pages at all. It is very limiting related to how you can market your sites.
Second, we are in the relationship business. We are networking, communicating, and supporting decisions
homeowners make that will impact them for up to 25 years. I think it is very important to at least show
your prospects & customers who you are, what your interests are, why you’re a “solar visionary”. This
builds or provides a venue outside of the corporate sites to communicate directly with your
customers.
You do not need to invest money or be a super Internet developer to make this happen. There are many free
blogging services out there that you can leverage. Do a Google search…or use www.Blogger.com. You can put
up some information or “borrow” whatever you would like from my Solargies.com Website to communicate to
your customers.
If you want to take things a step further, we can have a detailed discussion about getting a Website
developed and published. Often I just purchase a Website Template…then modify it… and go from there. Check out ways to bootstrap your efforts @ www.TemplateMonster.com.
Step 6 – Email & Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
We may very well have an email management & CRM tool available in the future. For right now, they do not.
Actually, they may end using the series of emails I’m creating for you as the basis for our national
program. I found it necessary to have a tool in place to track my prospects & customers related to follow
up calls and to understand my day-to-day activities. I’ll list a couple of resources here. I’ve worked with
these, have templates already created, and know how to set them up. If you feel the need, we can do a
little mentoring or a group conference call to get you started. Search Google for more resources or check
out the following.
Step 7 – Advertising / Promotion / Internet Marketing
Well, this is the biggy nut to crack. Let’s not take too deep of a dive into this World. We could very well
end up spending much time trying to figure this out all the while we could be building our Citizenre
business. I’ve spent a bunch of money learning PPC, SEO, and Internet Marketing. It was somewhat
frustrating. It’s is sort of what I do in my day job (i.e. Internet development & marketing).
You can learn all about Google, MSN, Yahoo Search, and thousands of other marketing services out there. You may also want
to point traffic to your Website via online classified ads. You can do a search and find hundreds of places
to post free classified ads all over the Internet. Post to one or two a day and see what happens.
If you are comfortable in your online marketing skills, I believe this type of advertising is a critical
part of building your business. It is far easier to have a prospect find your Blog or Website on the
Internet than it is to attend a trade show or set up a meeting at the local coffee shop.
I’ve decided, for my own business reasons, to leverage the knowledge of the marketing experts. I’m using a
company called Orange Soda. They specialize in small business marketing needs. You can set a marketing
budget tailored to your needs; $50, $100, $500, or whatever dollars a month. It is up to you. They will
scale up as your business takes off. I literally have hundreds of PPC ads already created. I will send
these over if you decide to leverage paid advertising through an online service like Google, MSN, or Yahoo
Search.
Internet marketing directly relates to how much marketing budget you wish to invest. Think this through in
great detail to ensure you approach your business as a business and only invest the amount of money you
feel comfortable with.
Step 8 – Ecopreneur Pipeline & Prospecting
The life blood of your business will be your active leads and your prospect pipeline. You will need to
continually have new customers who are joining the solution and prospective Ecopreneurs interested in a
solar energy business. Many of the resources listed above will help you to begin building your pipeline.
Consistent activity with a group of interested, business-minded prospects is vital to your long
term success.
I’ve researched and worked directly with my marketing mentor related to the best sources to obtain business
leads. You cannot beat the quality and price related to the leads offered by the company below. Purchasing
leads at $1 each will be one of the least expensive ways to build your business. To note an unfortunate
example, I experimented with PPC advertising and spent well over $5 per lead. Opps…
Step 9 – Enhancing YOUR Ecopreneur Team Resources
My final step relates to borrowing, leveraging, and collecting any & all of the team resources that I have
shared with you. I suggest you start to or continue to collect these resources and tailor them to your
needs then share them with your team. At some point, you will need to collect these yourself and experiment
with how these work within your own process, environment, and your growing team. I’m hoping I’ve created a
good starting point for you to continue to develop for your own business development.
Let's Take a Final Look at Duplication
The classic example of “duplication” is the frequently used save a penny-a-day story. If you save one penny
on the first day, and double it every successive day, (i.e. day two you have 2 pennies and day three you
have 4 pennies, and so on)…
How much will you have at the end of 30 days?
The answer, to the astonishment of many, is $5,368,708!
If I can teach you how to succeed with your solar business, I've doubled myself. If we each teach
someone else, we've doubled again. As this duplication process goes on and on, we can produce some amazing
results. Just think about the environmental impact we will have or the comfort you will feel with a more
stable financial future.
Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the sponsor to coach & train new Ecopreneurs. That’s me. It is the
responsibility of new Ecopreneurs to listen, to receive the information, to follow the step-by-step
instructions included in the system. That’s you.
Understand & Apply These Three Principles:
1. Leverage the Power of Many (of time, resources, and efforts)
2. Build a Residual Income (think in terms of actions today lead to long term results tomorrow)
3. Grow & Duplicate Systems in Your Team (communicate & educate others)
Given sufficient time and effort, you should enjoy a successful and financially rewarding
business. As always, I’m here to help, here to learn with you, and here to provide any of the tools that
you may need to duplicate and grow your own team.
